In a chilling turn of events, a 13-year-old schoolgirl allegedly attacked her teachers and a classmate with a knife, making unsettling remarks to police afterward.
According to court testimony, the girl, who cannot be named due to her age, seemed to show no remorse, even telling officers, “That’s one way to be a celebrity.”
The case, which unfolded at Swansea Crown Court, paints a disturbing picture of a premeditated attack with violent intentions.
Smuggling the Knife and Prepping for Attack
The young girl reportedly managed to smuggle her father’s fishing knife into her school, despite being subject to daily bag checks.
On the morning of April 24th, the girl brought the weapon into Amman Valley School, located in Ammanford, Carmarthenshire.
Witnesses recounted that just before the attack, the girl threatened her teachers, saying, “I’m going to f***ing kill you,” before stabbing Fiona Elias, 48, an assistant head teacher, and Liz Hopkin, 53, a special needs teacher, who tried to intervene.
Escalation and Chilling Remarks
After attacking the teachers, the girl ran to a different area of the school and stabbed a female classmate.
She later asked police officers if they knew the girl she had just injured, nonchalantly remarking, “Oopsies, I stabbed her.”
Prosecutor William Hughes KC described how the girl, while sitting in the back of the police car, made multiple comments about the situation, including, “I suppose things like this don’t happen very often.
Are they dead? I’m pretty sure this is going to be on the news—more eyes will be looking at me. That’s one way to be a celebrity.”
Shocking Courtroom Testimony
During the trial, the court was shown CCTV footage of the attack, with Mr. Hughes highlighting the “sinister” look in the girl’s eyes as she assaulted her teachers.
Mrs. Elias had reportedly sensed something was wrong when she noticed the way the girl was staring at her and asked what was in her pocket.
That’s when the girl pulled out the multi-tool knife and launched her attack.
According to witnesses, the girl repeatedly said, “I’m going to f***ing kill you,” as she stabbed Mrs. Elias, who sustained serious injuries to her arms.
Mrs. Hopkin, attempting to restrain the girl, was also viciously stabbed multiple times, suffering injuries to her neck, back, legs, and arms.
Both teachers were treated at a hospital but were discharged within 48 hours, along with the third victim.
Disturbing Findings and Ongoing Trial
The trial revealed that the girl had been under close monitoring after a previous incident where she attempted to bring a knife to school.
Despite these precautions, she managed to bring the weapon into the school on the day of the attack.
During a search of her bedroom, police found a notepad containing troubling writings, referencing violent acts and a desire to harm the 14-year-old victim.
Mr. Hughes stated that the girl’s actions and writings demonstrated a clear intent to kill.
The girl faces three charges of attempted murder, although she has admitted to three charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of a bladed article.
Due to her age, she is seated with her legal team during the trial rather than in the dock.
The trial continues as more evidence and testimony come to light.
What happens next remains uncertain, but this incident has undoubtedly shaken the local community and raised many questions about how such an event could occur in a school setting.
