Linda Mudzenda, a 21-year-old children’s support worker from Bedford, has captured the attention of Britain’s Got Talent judges with her extraordinary voice and moving performance.
Originally from Zimbabwe, Linda moved to the UK just two years ago and had long dreamed of taking part in the popular talent competition.
She shared with Mirror, “I watched BGT on YouTube all the time growing up.
When people asked me what I wanted to do when I grew up, I always said to be part of Britain’s Got Talent.
Even though I was in Zimbabwe, I believed I would move to the UK and make it happen.
The thought of getting a golden buzzer would make me cry hysterically.”
A Musical Journey from a Young Age
Linda’s passion for music started when she was just 10 years old, singing with her sisters in church.
Reflecting on those early days, she said, “It’s a very different feeling from performing solo now.”
By the time she was 16, Linda began singing professionally, collaborating with Gospel artists from all over the world.
Now, she contributes to the music industry by providing backing vocals, helping produce music, and writing her own songs.
She is preparing to release her debut single this autumn.
“My tracks are deeply influenced by the church, and the lyrics are meant to guide people through hard times and help them find answers in a higher power,” Linda explained.
Balancing Work and Music
While Linda works part-time as a children’s support worker, she has never performed for the children she supports.
“I work with children from newborns to 18-year-olds. It’s rewarding, and no two days are the same,” she said.
“My best days are when I see the babies, I get so broody.”
Many of the older children she helps have a deep love for music, and Linda finds that sharing her musical background allows her to connect with them.
“They love knowing we have a shared interest,” she added.
From Afri Praise to Bigger Stages
One of Linda’s proudest achievements so far was performing at the Afri Praise concert at Birmingham Arena in August. “Singing to a large crowd is a strange feeling.
I’m always nervous beforehand, but the moment I get the microphone, the nerves disappear, and I own the stage,” she said.
Looking Ahead: Ambitions for the Future
Linda’s ultimate goal is to win Britain’s Got Talent and achieve international recognition.
She dreams of growing her audience, releasing more music, and even going on tour with her own sound.
“Winning BGT would be a dream come true,” she said.
As Linda’s journey continues, it’s clear that her talent, ambition, and passion for music are propelling her toward greater heights.
Will she be the next star to rise on Britain’s Got Talent? Only time will tell.
