Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has renewed calls for increased international support after accusing Russia of carrying out fresh attacks on civilian infrastructure across several regions of Ukraine.

In a statement posted on social media, Zelenskyy said the latest strikes targeted passenger transport, residential buildings, and a hospital, arguing that the attacks highlight the urgent need for stronger air defenses and additional international pressure on Moscow.

Civilian Locations Reportedly Hit Across Ukraine

According to Zelenskyy, Russian attacks struck multiple non-military locations during the day.

He said an ordinary passenger bus in Odesa, apartment buildings in Zaporizhzhia, and a hospital in the Kharkiv region were among the sites affected. The Ukrainian president described the locations as purely civilian, saying the incidents reflected the continued impact of the war on the country’s population.

Russia has consistently stated that its military operations are directed at military and strategic targets, although Ukrainian officials have repeatedly accused Moscow of striking civilian infrastructure.

Ukrainian Leader Seeks Greater International Support

Zelenskyy argued that the latest attacks reinforce the case for continued military and political backing from Ukraine’s allies.

He said the repeated strikes demonstrate the importance of expanding Ukraine’s air defense capabilities to better protect civilians and critical infrastructure. According to the president, countries around the world recognize the need to provide additional defensive systems as the conflict continues.

Call for New Sanctions and Defense Projects

The Ukrainian president also urged international partners to increase pressure on Russia through additional sanctions and expanded security assistance.

He highlighted the proposed European anti-ballistic initiative known as FREYJA, describing it as one of several projects that could strengthen Ukraine’s and Europe’s collective defenses. Zelenskyy said such initiatives, together with new aid packages, should help improve protection against future attacks.

Defense Talks Expected in Coming Days

Looking ahead, Zelenskyy said Ukraine is preparing for a series of meetings and negotiations with international partners focused on reinforcing the country’s defense capabilities.

He thanked nations supporting Ukraine and expressed hope that upcoming discussions would result in stronger security cooperation and additional measures to improve the country’s ability to defend its population and infrastructure against continued attacks.
