Harper Beckham is moving closer to launching her first beauty venture, with her upcoming skincare brand reportedly named Harlo by Harper after the teenager’s original choice faced trademark difficulties in America.

The 15-year-old daughter of football legend David Beckham and fashion entrepreneur Victoria Beckham is preparing to enter the competitive beauty industry, targeting younger consumers from Generation Z and Generation Alpha with a skincare-focused collection.

The brand name change marks a new chapter in Harper’s business journey after her initial plans encountered legal obstacles.

Teen Entrepreneur Chooses Harlo by Harper for Skincare Launch

The name Harlo, a modern gender-neutral name with British roots, is believed to have been selected after discussions between Harper and the team developing her beauty company.

A source close to the project said the teenager had spent considerable time working on the identity of the brand before settling on Harlo by Harper, with trademark applications now reportedly completed.

“Harper has been working on a name with the team working on the brand for a while and came up with Harlo By Harper,” the source said.

Although an official launch date has not been announced, the skincare line is expected to begin rolling out next year.

The first products remain confidential, but reports suggest the collection could include facial cleansers and moisturisers designed specifically for younger customers.

Victoria Beckham Supports Daughter’s Growing Business Ambitions

Harper’s entry into beauty follows closely in the footsteps of her mother, Victoria Beckham, who transformed her own fashion and beauty interests into a successful global business.

The former Spice Girl has reportedly played a major role in guiding Harper through the process, offering advice and support as her daughter develops her own brand.

“Both Victoria and David couldn’t be more proud of Harper,” the source added.

Harper has grown up surrounded by beauty and fashion discussions, with Victoria previously revealing that her daughter attended product development meetings from a young age.

Original Brand Idea Faced Trademark Problems in America

Before choosing Harlo by Harper, the Beckham family had reportedly planned to launch the business under the name HIKU BY Harper.

The name had been trademarked in the United Kingdom as preparations began for the beauty line, but the application later faced problems in the United States.

The US Patent and Trademark Office issued an initial refusal, citing potential confusion with existing trademarks.

Reports suggested the issue involved similarities with existing registrations, including “Harper” being linked to products such as cleaning tools, while “Hiku” was already associated with toiletry and fragrance categories.

The Beckhams had originally sought protection for a wide range of products, including makeup, acne skincare items, footwear, clothing, accessories, hair products, brushes, stickers and keyrings.

The family reportedly had six months to challenge the initial trademark decision.

Harper’s Personal Skincare Struggles Inspired Beauty Venture

Harper’s motivation for creating the brand reportedly came from her own experience dealing with teenage acne.

Earlier this year, Victoria Beckham revealed that her daughter struggled with severe skin problems after experimenting with unsuitable beauty products.

Speaking on Emma Grede’s Aspire podcast, Victoria explained that Harper’s experience with acne encouraged her to develop products that could help other young people facing similar challenges.

Victoria said Harper told her she wanted to create a brand because she understood what young people needed and wanted others to avoid the difficulties she experienced.

The teenager reportedly presented her mother with detailed PowerPoint presentations outlining her vision for the company during the early stages of development.

Beckham Family Builds Another Generation of Brand Protection

The launch of Harlo by Harper continues a long-standing Beckham family strategy of protecting their personal brands.

Victoria previously registered Harper’s name for commercial use when her daughter was only five years old, securing rights connected to products such as clothing, toys and beauty items.

The move was considered unusual at the time, with intellectual property experts describing it as a forward-thinking approach to protecting celebrity names.

Legal specialist Oliver Bray previously said trademarking a child’s name before they become a public figure was uncommon but could provide greater control over their future image.

Victoria Beckham’s Beauty Empire Provides a Strong Foundation

Harper’s ambitions come as her mother’s own beauty company continues to expand.

Victoria Beckham Beauty, launched in 2019, has become a major contributor to the wider Beckham business portfolio, with products such as the Satin Kajal Liner gaining popularity among customers.

Victoria previously described achieving profitability as a major milestone after years of restructuring and challenges within the fashion and beauty industries.

The company reportedly recorded significant revenue growth, with sales increasing sharply as the beauty division helped strengthen the Beckham brand internationally.

What’s Next for Harper Beckham’s Beauty Brand?

With the Harlo by Harper name reportedly secured, attention will now turn to the product launch, marketing strategy and whether the young entrepreneur can establish her own identity beyond her famous family.

The upcoming skincare line will compete in a crowded market filled with celebrity-backed beauty brands, but Harper’s personal connection to skincare and the support of the Beckham business network could give the brand a strong starting point.

As the teenager prepares to step into the beauty industry, Harlo by Harper represents the latest expansion of one of the world’s most recognisable celebrity families.
