Israeli-American entrepreneur Yakir Levi has died after falling from the 28th floor of a luxury residential tower in Miami, Florida.
The 45-year-old businessman was identified by relatives as the man who fell from the Acqualina Resort and Residences On The Beach in Sunny Isles Beach on Monday night.
Authorities said emergency responders were called shortly after 9.30pm following reports that an adult male had fallen from the high-rise building.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews and law enforcement officers arrived at the scene and confirmed the man had died.
A spokesperson for the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said investigators found the victim deceased upon arrival.
Police Launch Investigation Into Unclassified Death
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Homicide Bureau has taken responsibility for the investigation into Levi’s death.
Officials said the case is currently being treated as an unclassified death investigation, with detectives working to complete identification procedures and notify next of kin.
Authorities have not released a confirmed cause or manner of death, explaining that those details will be determined after an autopsy by the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner.
A sheriff’s office representative said investigators are continuing their work while awaiting the medical examiner’s findings.
