A shocking incident unfolded on Barry Island when a 12-year-old girl was allegedly stabbed, leaving her seriously injured.

The attack occurred on Sunday evening near the Harbour Road car park, prompting swift action from emergency services.

Victim’s Condition and Hospitalization

The young victim was quickly rushed to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.

Fortunately, her injuries, though serious, are not considered life-threatening.

Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack, with officers confirming the severity of her condition.

Arrests Made: Two Teenagers Taken Into Custody

Two teenage boys, aged 13 and 15, from the local area, have been arrested in connection with the attack.

In addition, the younger of the two has also been arrested for possession of a bladed article.

Both remain in police custody as the investigation continues.

Detective Inspector Phil Marchant addressed concerns within the community, acknowledging the worry caused by the involvement of such young suspects.
