The midfielder departed the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium wearing a protective boot after the 2-0 victory over Manchester United last weekend, but he is now ready for the upcoming match at the Vitality Stadium. In an interview with TNT Sport before the game, Maddison mentioned, “I’ve recuperated well. I sustained a minor knock, but nothing significant, and I’m fully prepared to play.”
Postecoglou stated on Friday, “Observers might have seen him wearing a moon boot and presumed it’s a more serious issue, but it was primarily a precautionary measure. We’ve been cautious in handling him. There was no rush to have him available; we left the decision to him. He’s been feeling good and probably could have trained yesterday, but the medical team wanted to ensure his well-being. Once again, it depends on how he feels after the match, but there’s certainly nothing severe.”
Tottenham’s lineup remains unchanged from the squad that triumphed over Manchester United in the previous week.
