Josephine Otabor, widely known as Phyna and the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 7, has addressed reports suggesting that she has abandoned her father following her reality show victory.
Father’s Statements to Vanguard
In a recent interview with Vanguard, Phyna’s father, Felix Otabor, revealed that they had not seen their daughter since the day she was announced as the BBNaija Season 7 winner.
He expressed his disappointment that Phyna had not answered their calls and mentioned that she had asked him to stop working as a hearse driver.
Phyna’s Response on Social Media
Phyna took to her social media platform, specifically on X (formerly Twitter), to respond to these reports.
In her post, she strongly criticized Vanguard newspaper for its relentless texts and calls, as well as for probing her with intrusive questions.
Expressing Her Frustration
Phyna conveyed her frustration with the situation and the newspaper’s actions. She narrated an incident where she inadvertently answered a call from one of the numbers that had been persistently contacting her.
The caller identified himself as Ben Njoku from Vanguard and began asking questions, leading Phyna to promptly end the call.
Reporter’s Apology
After ending the call, Phyna received an immediate text message from the reporter, apologizing for his actions.
However, Phyna remained incensed by the invasive questioning and harassment.
Phyna’s Resolve to Take Legal Action
Phyna concluded her post by suggesting that she was contemplating legal action against Vanguard.
She expressed her dissatisfaction with the newspaper’s behavior and vowed to address the situation through legal means.
