Former Orlando Pirates coach Cavin Johnson says that he has not been approached to mentor Kaizer Chiefs but is flattered by being linked with the job.

“Whatever the people are saying, I’m honoured to be associated with such a big brand,” Johnson told KickOff.

“If the opportunity presents itself then I would be honoured and would do my best. We all know that in the SADC region Chiefs are the biggest team.

“So they [Al Ahly and Kaizer Chiefs] are both big teams and to work within such big teams requires a different mentality, you learn a lot. But at the same time, there’s a lot of pressure at big teams where you need to perform well.”

Supersport United have made Sipho Mbule persona non grata, with the Kaizer Chiefs target exiled.

Soccer Laduma’s Tshepang Mailwane writes: “According to information received by the Siya crew: SuperSport is understood to not see it necessary to take the 24-year-old midfielder through any disciplinary hearings because the player looks set to leave, come the end of the campaign,” .

“Sources have indicated that the player has had dozens of meetings, fines and warnings from the club over the last few weeks and insiders have revealed that both parties are at a stage where they are ready to go their separate ways.

Amazulu are reportedly lining up a move to lure Steve Komphela back to Durban.

Usuthu top brass favour Komphela, a source told the Citizen.

“They have received so many CVs even from outside the country. I am not sure if Steve also sent his CV or if they are head hunting him, but he is a firm favourite with the club’s management,” said the source.
