What a unique and uncommon individual. I can only pray that my depiction of him was accurate. Despite never having met, I feel as though I already knew him. That he passed away on my birthday is purely coincidental. To his loved ones, I offer my deepest sympathies. Pray for his eternal rest.
Daw, 73, will reprise his role as Mr. Al-Fayed in season 6 of The Crown, which is widely speculated to focus on the Paris tunnel car disaster.

Dodi Al-Fayed, the son of Mr. Al-Fayed, and Diana died in the same August 1997 vehicle crash in Paris.
After insisting for a decade that they were killed in a scheme orchestrated by the secret services and the Duke of Edinburgh, he finally admitted defeat in 2007 and 2008, following a highly publicized six-month inquest.
The jury found both Diana and Dodi’s deaths to be unlawful, with the intoxicated driving of their driver Henri Paul being held responsible.

Mr. Paul was an employee of the Paris Ritz hotel, which Mr. Al Fayed bought in 1979; both men perished in the disaster.
