In a shocking incident, a 26-year-old delivery cyclist became the victim of a brutal attack by assailants who stole his e-bike at knifepoint.
The assault occurred when the victim was sitting on a bench, and three individuals wearing balaclavas approached him, attempting to steal his black and yellow Cascade electric bike.
The victim, who relied on the bike for his work, has been left deeply affected by the unprovoked attack and is now unable to continue working.
The distressing incident unfolded at approximately 6.50pm in Jubilee Park, Canton, on August 7.
The assailants, riding a white scrambler-style e-motorbike, confronted the victim near a Lidl supermarket on Leckwith Road.
One of them dismounted and tried to take the victim’s bike, while another brandished a knife.
As the victim attempted to prevent the theft, he was subjected to a series of violent blows and was beaten into unconsciousness.
The assailants then made off with the victim’s e-bike, escaping towards Lawrenny Avenue.
South Wales Police, investigating the case, have released CCTV images in their efforts to gather information about the incident and identify the culprits.
