The former Manchester City striker couldn’t resist taking a few jabs at Ronaldo’s absence from the 2025 Club World Cup, all while chatting with YouTuber and Ronaldo superfan IShowSpeed.
The digs were lighthearted, but the message was clear—Aguero was definitely enjoying the moment.
Ronaldo Misses Out as Club World Cup Kicks Off Without Him
The revamped Club World Cup got underway in the United States with 32 teams battling it out for the title.
But one name missing from the lineup? Cristiano Ronaldo.
Despite early speculation—fuelled by even FIFA president Gianni Infantino—that Ronaldo might still find a way to feature with a different team, the Portuguese legend remained with Al-Nassr.
Unfortunately for him, Al-Nassr didn’t qualify for the tournament during the four-year qualification cycle.
Aguero Throws Shade While Chatting With Speed
As Inter Miami took on Egyptian side Al Ahly, Aguero joined IShowSpeed on a livestream to watch the action—and things quickly got cheeky.
Knowing Speed’s obsession with Ronaldo, Aguero leaned into it.
“So you’re a big fan of Cristiano, huh?” Aguero teased with a smirk.
Speed confirmed it but still made it clear he’d love to meet Lionel Messi.
Aguero’s response? Classic. “I respect that, he’s a good player,” he said coolly.
“But I prefer Messi, of course.”

Then Aguero really turned it up. With a mock-serious tone, he asked, “Ronaldo is playing here now at the Club World Cup or no?” before adding, “Maybe he’ll have to watch on TV.”

When Speed fired back, predicting Ronaldo would lead Portugal to World Cup glory next summer, Aguero brushed it off with a sarcastic nod to Portugal’s Nations League win: “He just won the Euros, no? Ah, the Nations League. Congratulations.”
