Sumayyah’s parents have appealed to the public to help save their daughter’s life, who is slated to undergo liver surgery in India.

Sumayyah was diagnosed with Type 3 Jaundice at the age of one month and had to undergo surgery at the age of three months to avoid affecting her liver.

Summayah’s tummy began bulging a week after her surgery at Sacred Heart Hospital, Lantoro, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Southwest Nigeria, according to her mother, Sherifat Akande, who spoke with Gatekeepers News.

According to Akande, her baby was later transferred to Babcock Teaching Hospital, Ilasan for post-surgery medical attention, where a series of tests and abdominal scans were conducted on her.

She added that a test result that came out on December 5, showed that Sumayyah’s liver has to be replaced and she has to be flown out of the country for the surgery, which will cost 20 million naira.

Sumayyah is currently 8 months old, and her liver condition keeps worsening daily. Her parents are, therefore, pleading with benevolent Nigerians to help save the life of their baby who beholds a promising future.
