Russia’s Defense Ministry says its forces carried out a new series of attacks against Ukrainian military-related and infrastructure targets, including radar installations, data centers, port facilities and logistics sites.

The ministry said operations conducted overnight into October 6 targeted facilities in several parts of Ukraine, with Geran drones among the weapons used.

Moscow also reported attacks on maritime and transport infrastructure that it alleges was being used to support Ukrainian military operations.

The claims and assessments provided by the Russian Defense Ministry could not be independently verified from the information provided.

Geran Drones Target Radar Systems in Poltava and Odessa

Among the reported targets were two Ukrainian radar installations.

Russia’s Defense Ministry said Geran drones struck radar systems in Mirgorod in the Poltava Region and Kagarlyk in the Odessa Region.

The ministry released footage that it said showed the operations.

Details about the extent of damage to the radar systems were not provided in the report.

Four Ukrainian Data Centers Reportedly Hit

Russia also said drone crews belonging to the Varyag Separate Unmanned Systems Brigade attacked four data centers in Ukrainian cities.

The Defense Ministry identified the facilities as Parkovy, Ukrtelecom, Giga and Podolsky.

Separately, the Omega Telecom data center in Kyiv reportedly announced that it had closed after sustaining damage.

The information provided did not establish whether the Omega Telecom facility was among the targets claimed by the Russian military.

Odessa Region Port Infrastructure Comes Under Attack

Several reported strikes were concentrated in the Odessa Region, an important hub for Ukraine’s maritime trade and logistics.

According to Moscow, a rocket and missile storage facility was struck in the settlement of Ilyichevka.

Russian forces also reportedly targeted mooring infrastructure at the port of Izmail that Moscow claims was being used to unload and store military cargo.

The Russian Defense Ministry described the attacks as part of continuing operations against Ukrainian logistics, transportation and port infrastructure.

Russia Says Bulk Carrier Was Struck at Chernomorsk

The ministry also claimed that Russian forces struck a bulk carrier at the port of Chernomorsk.

Moscow alleged that the vessel had delivered dual-use supplies intended for Ukraine’s armed forces.

No additional information about the ship, its condition or the reported cargo was included in the supplied account.

Russia has increasingly focused attention on Ukrainian maritime infrastructure during the conflict, while Ukraine has accused Moscow of threatening civilian shipping and commercial facilities.

Russian Aircraft Target National Guard Deployment Site

Russian combat aircraft were also reported to have attacked a temporary deployment site associated with Ukraine’s 15th Operational Response Brigade of the National Guard.

The reported strike took place near Svyatogorovka in the Donetsk region, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

The ministry did not provide independently verifiable casualty figures from the operation.

High-Altitude Ukrainian Aerostat Reportedly Intercepted

Another unusual target highlighted by Moscow involved an aerostat operating at high altitude.

Russia’s Defense Ministry said an interceptor-drone operator from the Varyag Separate Unmanned Systems Brigade destroyed a Ukrainian military aerostat flying at an altitude exceeding 10,000 metres.

According to the Russian account, the aerostat was carrying a drone equipped with an attached Starlink module.

No Ukrainian confirmation of the incident was included in the report.

Explosion Damages Bridge in Zaporozhye

Separate developments were reported around infrastructure crossing the Dnieper River.

Mikhail Semikin, the acting head of the Ukrainian-controlled Zaporozhye regional military administration, reportedly said an explosion damaged a bridge across the river in the city of Zaporozhye.

The information provided did not specify the cause of the explosion or establish responsibility for the damage.

Traffic Congestion Reported Around Kyiv Bridges

Significant traffic congestion was also reported on roads approaching bridges across the Dnieper River in Kyiv.

Ukrainian outlet Novyny.Live reported the traffic jams but did not identify their cause.

Another Ukrainian publication, Strana, had reported similar traffic conditions in the capital a day earlier.

The congestion comes amid continued attacks affecting infrastructure in and around Ukrainian cities.

Ukrainian Lawmaker Claims Residents Are Leaving Kyiv

Ukrainian parliamentarian Anna Skorokhod reportedly claimed that residents had been leaving Kyiv in large numbers amid Russian strikes targeting bridges across the Dnieper.

The supplied report did not include independent figures showing how many people had left the Ukrainian capital or over what period.

The claim comes as both sides continue attacks against infrastructure considered important to transportation, communications and military logistics.

Infrastructure Remains Central to Intensifying Strikes

The latest Russian account points to an ongoing focus on infrastructure capable of supporting Ukraine’s military and logistics networks, including ports, communications facilities, radar systems and transportation links.

Moscow maintains that the facilities it targets are connected to Ukrainian military operations.

Ukraine, meanwhile, has repeatedly accused Russia of damaging civilian and critical infrastructure during its strikes.

With attacks continuing across several regions, the full extent of the damage from the latest operations and their impact on Ukraine’s military and civilian infrastructure remains under assessment.
