While acknowledging Akpabio’s merits for the position, Ubani challenged him to ensure the independence of the legislative arm and prioritize laws that directly impact the lives of Nigerians.
Working Towards a Functioning Nigeria
Expressing his warm welcome, Ubani highlighted Akpabio’s past positions and commended his capacity and competence for the role of Senate President.
He emphasized that despite the controversy surrounding his ministerial position, Akpabio successfully navigated through challenges.
Ubani noted that Akpabio’s election as Senate President was a result of his uncommon grace and the sensitivity displayed by the distinguished senators in their choice.
