New Era for “Rick and Morty” as Voice Actors Replaced

“Rick and Morty” Welcomes New Voice Actors

The highly anticipated new season of “Rick and Morty” has made its debut, introducing a significant change in the cast.

The show embarked on a worldwide search to find new actors to voice the iconic characters, Rick and Morty, after Justin Roiland, the original voice actor for both roles, was replaced.

Justin Roiland’s Exit and Replacement

For the first six seasons and all 61 episodes of the adult sci-fi comedy series, Justin Roiland had provided the voices for both the alcoholic genius Rick and his bumbling grandson Morty.

However, Roiland’s tenure ended following allegations of domestic violence, though the charges were subsequently dropped. This marked the beginning of a new era for the beloved show.

New Voices for Rick and Morty

In the wake of Roiland’s exit, a search was initiated to find suitable actors to fill the shoes of Rick and Morty.

The search culminated in the selection of two distinct actors to replace the original voice actor. Ian Cardoni, known for his work voicing promos for WWE and Apple TV, has taken on the role of Rick.

Meanwhile, Harry Belden, previously recognized for his contributions to “Joe Pera Talks With You” and the medical drama “Chicago Med,” is now the voice of Morty.

Season 7 Debut and Guest Appearances

The first episode of the new season featured a cameo appearance by Hugh Jackman as they embarked on a quest to rid themselves of an unwanted house guest.

Continuity and Key Cast Members

While the show’s creator, Justin Roiland, departed as the voice actor for the titular characters, Dan Harmon, who co-created “Rick and Morty” with Roiland, has retained his role as an executive producer.
