Senate Drama Erupts as Akpabio and Ndume Clash
Drama unfolded on the floor of the Senate on Tuesday as Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Senate Chief Whip Ali Ndume clashed in a heated exchange.
The altercation stemmed from Ndume’s protest against Akpabio’s handling of Senate affairs during the day’s plenary.
Ndume’s Point of Order
During Tuesday’s plenary, Ali Ndume raised a point of order, citing Order 54 of the Senate Standing Orders.
His point of order was a direct challenge to Akpabio’s management of the upper chamber. However, Akpabio promptly ruled Ndume out of order, intensifying the confrontation.
Walkout and Return to the Chamber
After being ruled out of order, Senator Ndume staged a walkout from the Senate and retreated to his office.
Yet, shortly after, he received a call from a colleague, summoning him to return to the chamber for an executive session, further adding to the drama of the day.
