The Proud Boy who used a police riot shield to break a window and let the first wave of the MAGA mob rush the US Capitol has been sentenced to ten years in prison.

Dominic Pezzola, or “Spaz,” was found guilty on numerous offenses, including attacking a police officer, stealing a police shield, damaging government property, and disrupting a legal hearing.A prosecution court petition referenced social media posts to claim he was one of the first rioters inside the Capitol building and a leader of the Proud Boys who broke a window with a police shield.

Prosecutors claim that on January 6, Pezzola led a throng of rioters to break a glass in the Capitol and storm the building.On Friday, he became the third far-right activist this week to get a prison term.Of the five Proud Boys, only Pezzola was found not guilty of seditious conspiracy. The attack on January 6, 2021, was unprecedented, and theirs is one of the most serious cases filed as a result.Enrique Tarrio, the commander of the Proud Boys, and three of his followers were previously convicted of seditious conspiracy in connection with the January 6 disturbance.
