A chilling development has unfolded in Bloemfontein, Free State, where a 42-year-old police sergeant has been detained for questioning over the disappearance of 19-year-old Kamogelo Baukudi.
The teenager vanished on Thursday, June 5, and since then, her whereabouts have remained unknown, sparking widespread concern.
Police Sergeant in Custody Amid Kidnapping Investigation
Authorities confirmed that the sergeant was taken into custody as part of an ongoing investigation into Kamogelo’s kidnapping.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson in the Free State, Brigadier Motantsi Makhele, announced that the officer will soon face court proceedings related to the case.

Free State police commissioner Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane has emphasized the SAPS’s firm stance against any involvement of police personnel in criminal activities.
“We will not tolerate any member of SAPS being part of such serious crimes,” Motswenyane declared.
He added that the investigation has reached a critical stage and reiterated the force’s commitment to uncovering the full truth behind this disturbing incident.
