Police Investigating Wednesday Evening Homicide Downtown

Police are investigating after a Wednesday evening shooting Downtown left one person dead.

At 7:12 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 1500 block of 3rd Avenue. Police arrived and found a male victim who appeared to be in his late teens or early 20s with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Officers began first aid and then transferred care to Seattle Fire Department medics. SFD medics transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition. The victim later died from his injuries at the hospital.

Homicide Detectives are at the scene and have begun their investigation. Detectives with SPD’s Crime Scene Investigation Unit will also be responding to document the scene and collect evidence.
