Broadway Market in Hackney, a popular destination for both tourists and locals, was the scene of a disturbing incident on Thursday afternoon.

Around 1:40 pm, a man walking through the bustling market was attacked with a substance suspected to be bleach, leaving onlookers and emergency services rushing to respond.

The assailant quickly fled the scene, prompting an immediate police search.
