Prof. Stella Effah-Attoe, the National Woman Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has died after a brief illness. She was a member of the PDP National Working Committee (NWC).
The PDP has described Effah-Attoe’s death as a huge blow to the nation. In a statement, the party said she was a brilliant, towering, and magnificent leader in all spheres.
Legacy of service:
Effah-Attoe was a dedicated teacher, politician, author, and fearless mobilizer.
She always stood for the truth and fought for justice, equity, and fairness. She also gave her energy, passion, and resources
in the pursuit of the rights of women in Nigeria.

Over the years, Effah-Attoe served as Commissioner for Education and later Commissioner for Information and Culture in Cross River State.
She was also a member of the Cross River State House of Assembly and a member of the Governing Board of several Cross River State and Federal Government Agencies and Programmes.
She was also a University Professor and one of the most decorated scholars in Nigeria.
The PDP stated that it will always remember the tireless contributions of Effah-Attoe in the effort to rebrand and strengthen the party in the build-up to the 2023 general elections.
As the National Woman Leader of the party, she brought an uncommon intellectual aptitude into Party administration, especially in mobilizing women for greater participation in politics and governance.
Prof. Stella Effah-Attoe was a dedicated leader and a role model for women in Nigeria. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
