In a tragic turn of events, Orlando Pirates, a stalwart in the DStv Premiership, has announced the passing of football icon Stanley “Screamer” Tshabalala.

Recently hospitalized due to a gunshot wound sustained during a burglary at his home, the 75-year-old former Bafana Bafana coach seemed to be on the path to recovery.

However, on Thursday evening, the Buccaneers shared the heartbreaking news of Tshabalala’s passing.

In an official statement, Orlando Pirates expressed profound sorrow: “The Tshabalala and Orlando Pirates Family is announcing the sad and untimely passing of Stanley Tshabalala this afternoon in hospital.”

Affectionately known as “Bra Stan” by all who knew him, Tshabalala ultimately succumbed to injuries sustained in the March incident.
