The First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has expressed her admiration for the All Progressives Congress (APC) victories in the recent governorship elections in Imo and Kogi states.
Usman Ododo and Hope Uzodinma emerged as the winners, securing significant mandates from the electorate.
The First Lady’s spokesperson issued a statement, conveying Senator Tinubu’s congratulations and highlighting the positive impact of these victories on democracy.
Celebrating Success in Kogi: Ododo’s Impressive Win
In Kogi state, Usman Ododo secured a resounding victory in the governorship election. With 446,237 votes, he outperformed his closest rival, Murtala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), who garnered 259,052 votes.
The third position went to Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), securing 46,362 votes. The First Lady extended her congratulations to Ododo for his triumph, acknowledging the support and confidence the people of Kogi state placed in the APC.
Imo’s Electoral Triumph: Uzodinma’s Remarkable Win
Governor Hope Uzodinma emerged victorious in Imo state, securing 540,308 votes in the governorship election.
His closest contender, Samuel Anyanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), trailed with 71,503 votes, while Athan Achonu of the Labour Party secured the third position with 64,081 votes. Senator Oluremi Tinubu commended Governor Uzodimma, his wife Barr. Chioma Uzodimma, and the people of Imo state for the successful outcome of the election. She emphasized the significance of Uzodinma’s win as a positive development for democracy.
