Oasis fans are feeling the sting of disappointment after missing out on a chance to grab extra tickets for the band’s Wembley shows.
Earlier today, the band announced that they had sent out all the necessary details and codes to those who were successful in the private ballot.
Unfortunately, with the overwhelming demand for tickets, many fans were left empty-handed.
Ticket Chaos and High Demand
The frenzy for Oasis tickets has been nothing short of intense.
Last month, the massive surge in ticket applications led to Ticketmaster’s system crashing.
In their latest statement, Oasis clarified, “Fans selected in the private ballot have been contacted with on-sale information and their code for purchasing tickets.
These codes were sent to the email address linked to their Ticketmaster account and ballot registration.
Due to unprecedented demand, having a code does not guarantee tickets; they will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.”
Fans React to the News
The reaction on social media has been a mix of frustration and heartbreak.
Some fans shared memes and gifs that captured their dismay, including images of distraught characters from The Simpsons and football fans in despair.
One user on X/Twitter expressed their sadness, saying, “I am so so sad – in the ballot but no code and 9 hours in Ticketmaster queues.
I’ve never been to a concert in my life, and this was the only one I ever wanted to attend.”
Another added, “Nine hours in the queue on Ticketmaster and no invite to the ballot received. Typical.”
Ticketing Troubles and Rising Costs
The ticketing issues have only added to the frustration.
Many fans were already disheartened by the chaos that ensued when the ticketing site crashed and by the exorbitant prices due to Ticketmaster’s ‘dynamic pricing,’ which saw ticket costs more than double in some cases.
Liam Gallagher Talks Family and Upcoming Shows
Amid the ticketing chaos, Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher took to X to discuss his relationship with his brother Noel and how it has affected their mother.
When asked about their reunion, Liam responded, “She’s made up, very happy. It must have been awful for her.”
Looking ahead to their shows, Liam posted yesterday, “Too many breaks for my liking, R’kid.
I’ll be full on for about 15 songs, let my Biblical brother do his thing for a bit, and then I’ll come back on and send you all into outer space. Is that OK? Cheers, luv.”
