Nollywood actress Ufuoma McDermott has issued an apology on behalf of Nigerians to Indian chef Lata Tondon, the former Guinness World Record holder for the cook-a-thon.
Nigerians had engaged in cyberbullying towards Chef Lata during Hilda Baci’s attempt to surpass her record.

Expressing remorse, Ufuoma McDermott posted a lengthy apology on her Instagram page, commending Chef Lata for paving the way for young women to follow.
She acknowledged Chef Lata’s significant achievement in being the first woman to hold the Guinness World Record for the longest individual cooking session.

Despite losing her crown, Ufuoma highlighted that Chef Lata’s distinction as the first woman to achieve the record will always be recognized.

In May, Guinness World Records officially confirmed Hilda Baci as the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon in the individual category.
The announcement was made on Twitter, stating that Hilda cooked for 93 hours and 11 minutes.
However, her record time was reduced due to issues with her resting hours, as she initially cooked for 100 hours.
Previous Record Holder and Final Thoughts
Indian Chef Lata Tondon previously held the record for cooking meals for 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 seconds.
