NFL Players Weigh in on Taylor Swift’s Role in Bringing New Fans to the League While Some Express Frustration Over the Excessive Coverage of Her at Games

When it comes to celebrity appearances at sports events, few can match the impact of Taylor Swift.

Last season, she made headlines by showing up at NFL games, trading her dazzling outfits for the Kansas City Chiefs’ colors to support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.

This sparked quite a bit of chatter among fans, especially the “Brads, Chads, and dads” of the league, but the players themselves seem to have a different perspective.

A New Era of Fans

Swift’s presence at the games last year was nothing short of a spectacle.

She not only stole the spotlight on the field with quick flashes on the big screen but also became a talking point in network coverage.

While some NFL fans grumbled about her frequent appearances in VIP suites, others welcomed her, appreciating the fresh energy she brought to the sport.

Interestingly, her star power even seemed to attract a whole new group of fans to the NFL, leaving many wondering how the players felt about the added attention.

Players Weigh In: Mostly Positive Vibes

According to a poll conducted by The Athletic, a whopping 72.5 percent of 102 NFL players surveyed felt that Swift’s involvement was a net positive for the league.

Just five players thought her presence was detrimental, while 23 remained neutral, feeling it was “somewhere in the middle.”

One player noted, “At the end of the day, it’s a business, and you want as many eyes on it as possible.

She brings a lot of attention, and if that helps boost the salary cap, who’s going to complain about that?”

Mixed Reviews on Coverage

Not everyone is on board with the constant coverage of Swift, though.

One player pointed out that while her involvement has its benefits, it could be overdone.

“It’s great that she’s bringing more eyes to the game, but I think they overdo it with how often they show her.

If she’s at a game, they probably pan to her six or seven times. People might get tired of seeing her if they keep it up.”

On the flip side, another player voiced frustration over the excessive focus on Swift, stating, “She’s getting unnecessary coverage.

There was an NFL opening season video where she was featured five times, and our quarterback wasn’t shown at all. That just doesn’t feel right. She’s not the NFL.”

Travis Kelce: The Center of Attention

Travis Kelce himself has become a topic of conversation, as he was voted one of the most annoying players in the NFL by his peers, landing in a tie for fifth place with 4.5 percent of the votes.

Some believe that his celebrity girlfriend’s fame has added to this attention.

One player expressed irritation that the cameras seemed to zoom in on Swift every time Kelce made a catch.

Interestingly, Swift missed a second consecutive Chiefs game over the weekend, opting out of attending while her boyfriend faced some challenges in a slow start to the season.

As fans and players continue to debate her presence in the NFL, it remains to be seen how this dynamic will unfold moving forward.
