Marella Cruises has announced its plans to homeport Marella Explorer 2 in the Dominican Republic starting from December 24, 2024.

This marks the cruise line’s return to the Caribbean island after a hiatus since winter 2017.

The new homeport will offer three distinct itineraries, providing guests with diverse Caribbean experiences.

Caribbean Classics and Colours of the Caribbean Itineraries: The Caribbean Classics itinerary will take guests to popular destinations including Grenada, Barbados, St Lucia, and St Kitts.

The ship will then return to La Romana.

The Canarian Escape 1 itinerary will offer four-night sailings departing from Malaga in Spain aboard the Marella Explorer, with visits to Gibraltar and Casablanca in Morocco.

The Spanish Getaway itinerary will take place on the latest addition to the fleet, Marella Voyager, departing from Palma in Majorca and visiting three renowned Spanish destinations: Alicante, Almeria, and Malaga.

Additional Winter Itineraries: Marella Cruises is further diversifying its winter itineraries with six-night sailings from Marmaris in Turkey, Corfu Town in Greece, and Malaga in Spain.

These new options provide guests with more flexibility and varied destinations to explore.

Conclusion: Marella Cruises’ decision to homeport Marella Explorer 2 in the Dominican Republic reflects their commitment to expanding their offerings and providing unique experiences for their guests.

The introduction of new itineraries and the return to the Caribbean after several years will undoubtedly attract cruise enthusiasts.

The expanded Mediterranean options also cater to travelers seeking shorter sailings and opportunities to explore renowned destinations.
