A 40-year-old from Kimberley in the Northern Cape will appear in court tomorrow, after she was caught red-handed trying to arrange the murder of her husband. The female suspect walked right into a trap laid by SAPS officials.

Details released by the police service confirm that the woman had promised to give a substantial cash payment to anyone who could ‘eliminate her husband’. She has since been slapped with criminal charges, and faces a lengthy spell behind bars.

  • It’s alleged that woman wanted the hitmen to kidnap and kill her husband.
  • She promised to pay them a substantial amount of payment after the supposed hit.
  • The woman was intercepted and arrested while negotiating with who she THOUGHT were the hitmen.
  • However, SAPS agents were posing as contract killers – snaring the suspect on Sunday.
  • She is expected to appear in the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court on Monday, charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

In the statement released by SAPS, it was revealed that the woman and her partner had actually become estranged. She was apprehended at the Indian Centre in Kimberley, where the suspect thought she’d be meeting a pair of contract killers.

Unfortunately for her, she was greeted by police officers instead.

“A joint operation executed by members of Provincial Organised Crime and Kimberley Crime Intelligence led to the arrest of a 40-year-old woman who allegedly conspired to have her husband murdered.”

“The arrest was affected on Sunday, 15 May 2022 at the Indian Centre in Kimberley when the female suspect who allegedly hired hitmen to murder her estranged husband. The team executed the arrest with the assistance of agents who posed as hitmen.”
