Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates End the Year with Victories in South Africa’s Betway Premiership

Both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates wrapped up the year on a high note with impressive victories in their latest matches on Sunday, showcasing their skills and determination.

Kaizer Chiefs Secure 1-0 Win Against Chippa United

Kaizer Chiefs claimed a crucial 1-0 victory over Chippa United, thanks to a brilliant first-half goal from Mduduzi Shabalala.

The 20-year-old showed off his talent by dribbling past two Chippa defenders before firing the ball into the net, securing all three points for Chiefs.

This win marked their fourth of the season, bringing them to 15 points after 10 matches, and lifting them to seventh place in the Betway Premiership standings.

Orlando Pirates Win 1-0 Over Magesi FC

Similarly, Orlando Pirates enjoyed a 1-0 win against Magesi FC at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Relebohile Mofokeng was the hero for Pirates, scoring a stunning goal that earned them all three points.

With this victory, Pirates are now just three points behind league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, who had beaten Richards Bay 2-0 the previous day.

Pirates also have a game in hand, keeping the pressure on their rivals.

Pirates Close the Gap on Mamelodi Sundowns

The win was especially important for Pirates as it not only brought them closer to the top spot but also served as a bit of revenge for their earlier loss to Magesi.

Magesi had previously knocked Pirates out of the Carling Knockout Cup, and the Sea Robbers were eager to bounce back with a strong performance.

As it stands, Pirates are three points behind Sundowns, with Chiefs sitting 12 points behind the Buccaneers in seventh place.

The Bottom of the Table

Magesi, despite their brave effort, remains at the bottom of the log with just six points.

They are closely followed by Richards Bay and Royal AM, who are also struggling near the foot of the table.
