…By Larry John for TDPel Media. Troops belonging to the Joint Task Force (JTF) in Borno State have successfully neutralized a suicide bomber during a recent operation.

The operation also resulted in the apprehension of 22 Boko Haram logistic suppliers and the neutralization of 26 Boko Haram and Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists.

Additionally, the troops captured one Boko Haram fighter and arrested three armed robbers and 52 suspected criminals.

Rescue of Abducted Civilians and Surrender of Terrorists:

As part of Operation Hadin Kai, the troops operating in the northeastern region of Nigeria successfully rescued 16 abducted civilians.

Furthermore, a significant development occurred as 876 terrorists and their family members, consisting of 89 adult males, 249 adult females, and 538 children, surrendered to the troops at various locations within the theater of operations.

Thorough Raid and Offensive Operations:

The statement by Maj.-Gen. Musa Danmadami, the Director of Defence Media Operations, explained that the terrorists’ hideouts were thoroughly raided between May 18 and June 1.

These operations, conducted jointly by the ground and air components of the operation, targeted identified terrorists’ hideouts, enclaves, camps, villages, forests, and mountains.

Locations Targeted in the Operation:

The operation specifically targeted areas in Borno State, including Konduga, Abadam, Guzamala, Ngala, Bama, Dikwa, Gubio, Damboa, Jere, Kukawa, Magumeri, and Monguno local government areas.

These areas are being systematically cleared of terrorists on a daily basis.

Fierce Firefights and Recovered Weapons:

During the operations, troops engaged in intense firefights with the terrorists.

As a result, 25 Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists were neutralized, and seven AK-47 rifles were recovered.
