The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has announced the killing of two individuals accused of organising weapons procurement, trading and smuggling operations into the Gaza Strip.

The men were identified as Basel Nabil Abd al-Rahman Kashta and Ahmad Raja al-Shaer, whom Israeli military officials accused of facilitating the movement of weapons and other military equipment into Gaza.

According to the IDF, the two were involved in activities that supported weapons supplies to armed groups operating in the territory.

The military said the operation was conducted to eliminate what it described as an immediate threat to Israeli civilians and soldiers operating in the Yellow Line area.

Two Men Accused of Coordinating Weapons Smuggling Into Gaza

Israeli military authorities identified Kashta and al-Shaer as individuals involved in the procurement and trafficking of weapons intended for delivery into Gaza.

According to the IDF statement, both men played roles in acquiring military equipment and arranging its movement into the territory.

The military alleged that their activities included purchasing, trading and facilitating the smuggling of weapons.

Israeli officials did not disclose the specific types or quantities of weapons allegedly handled by the two individuals.

The statement also did not identify the routes used for the reported smuggling operations.

The IDF said Kashta and al-Shaer were involved in activities extending beyond the transportation of weapons.

Their alleged responsibilities included sourcing military equipment, arranging weapons transactions and supporting the movement of supplies into Gaza.

Israeli authorities described these activities as part of efforts to maintain access to weapons and other military resources.

The military did not specify whether the two men belonged to a particular armed organisation or identify other individuals allegedly involved in the procurement operations.

No additional details were provided about the structure or size of the suspected weapons supply network.

The Israeli military said the operation targeting the two men was carried out because of an immediate security threat.

According to the IDF, their alleged weapons-smuggling activities posed a danger to Israeli civilians and military personnel operating in the Yellow Line area.

The military identified the removal of that threat as the reason for the operation.

The statement did not provide details about any specific attack allegedly being prepared or disclose whether weapons connected to the two men had recently been used against Israeli forces.

Israeli Military Confirms Deaths of Both Suspects

The IDF confirmed that both Basel Nabil Abd al-Rahman Kashta and Ahmad Raja al-Shaer were killed during the operation.

The announcement did not specify the exact location of the strike, the weapons used or the time at which the operation took place.

Israeli officials also did not indicate whether additional individuals were present or affected.

The military maintained that the two men were targeted because of their alleged involvement in procuring, trading and smuggling weapons and military equipment into Gaza.

The announcement concluded with the IDF’s position that the operation was intended to prevent an immediate threat to Israeli civilians and troops stationed in the Yellow Line area.
