Inter Milan make direct contact with Manchester United to pursue Rasmus Hojlund transfer in potential return to Serie A

It wasn’t the season Rasmus Hojlund had hoped for at Manchester United.

After arriving with a hefty price tag and big expectations, the Danish striker had a tough time delivering goals.

Now, it looks like he might be heading back to more familiar territory—Italy, where he previously found success at Atalanta.

Inter Milan Make Their Move for Struggling United Striker

Inter Milan have now intensified their interest in signing Hojlund, and they’re not alone.

Napoli and Juventus have also been monitoring the 22-year-old’s situation closely.

But Inter have already taken it a step further—they’ve reached out to Hojlund’s camp to find out what kind of price Manchester United would accept.

United, who spent around £72 million on him just two years ago, are now reportedly willing to let him go for a reduced fee.

It’s part of their wider plan to generate cash for a major summer squad overhaul.

United’s Attack Fell Flat and Hojlund Felt the Pressure

Ruben Amorim’s side didn’t exactly light up the Premier League last season.

They managed just 44 goals across 38 matches—a staggering low for a club of their stature.

Hojlund contributed only four of those, including a painful dry spell that lasted from December all the way to April.

That kind of return clearly wasn’t what United expected when they brought him in from Atalanta. With goals hard to come by, changes were inevitable.

United Have Already Moved On with Cunha Signing

Hojlund’s struggles seem to have opened the door for a reshuffle.

United have already signed Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha from Wolves in a £62.5 million deal.

The move signals that Amorim is serious about fixing United’s goal-scoring woes—and fast.

Napoli Were in the Picture, but Inter Now Look Like Front-Runners

Earlier reports suggested that Napoli were considering a move for Hojlund, possibly as part of a swap deal involving Victor Osimhen.

United even sent Matt Hargreaves, one of their recruitment leads, to Italy for talks with Napoli’s president and sporting director.

But now it’s Inter Milan who appear to have taken pole position in the race.

Given Hojlund’s previous success in Serie A, a return to Italy might be just what he needs to get his confidence and form back on track.
