Government’s Directive on Hotel Room Usage
The administration of Governor Hope Uzodimma in Imo State has issued a directive affecting hotel owners and managers in Owerri, the state’s capital.
The directive instructs these establishments to make their rooms exclusively available to the government in the lead-up to the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Imo State.

This development came to light through an official memo issued by the Commissioner for the State Ministry of Tourism, Jerry Egbule Egemba.
In this memo, the government expressed its intention to rent and occupy all hotel rooms, irrespective of their size or classification, from November 4, 2023, to November 11, 2023.
The memo also requested that accommodation bills for the specified period be submitted to the commissioner’s office.
