Heartbroken Father of Missing Hannah Kobayashi Admits to Estrangement with Daughter Before Taking His Life

The tragic events surrounding the disappearance of 30-year-old Hannah Kobayashi have taken an even darker turn with the death of her father, Ryan Kobayashi.

The 58-year-old man, who had been desperately searching for his missing daughter, took his own life on Sunday morning after jumping from a parking garage at Los Angeles Airport.

His passing came just two weeks after his daughter was last heard from on November 11.

Ryan had traveled to California to aid in the search for Hannah, distributing “Find Hannah” flyers for over 13 days before his heartbreaking decision.

Strained Relationship

Ryan’s death revealed the emotional toll of the family’s strained relationship.

Although he expressed deep regret over the lack of contact with his daughter, he remained determined to find her.

In an interview with CNN, he admitted, “I wasn’t too close with her… growing up. We hadn’t had contact for a while. I’m just trying to make up. I’m trying to get her back. That’s my main focus.”

His family, including his sister-in-law Larie Pidgeon, acknowledged their difficult history but emphasized that Ryan’s estrangement did not diminish his dedication to finding Hannah when she needed him most.

The Disappearance

Hannah Kobayashi went missing after she missed a connecting flight from Maui to New York City on November 8.

The night before her disappearance, she was spotted at a bookstore in Los Angeles, and security footage later showed her at LAX airport.

Hannah had sent strange text messages before vanishing, including one that claimed “Deep Hackers wiped my identity, stole all of my funds, & have had me on a mind f**k since Friday.”

Her family became increasingly concerned as she sent more unsettling messages, including one stating she was undergoing a “spiritual awakening.”

Hannah’s movements were tracked across Los Angeles.

She was seen at The Grove shopping mall on November 8 and 9 and at a Nike event on November 10.

Later, she was spotted boarding a Metro train, but after that, her whereabouts remain unknown.

Her family believes some of her messages didn’t sound like her, raising questions about whether someone else may have been controlling her communications.

A Family in Crisis

Ryan’s death has deeply affected the Kobayashi family, who are now grappling with the disappearance of Hannah and the sudden loss of their father.

In a statement, the family expressed their heartbreak: “The Kobayashi family endured a devastating tragedy today.

After tirelessly searching throughout Los Angeles for 13 days, Hannah’s father, Ryan Kobayashi, tragically took his own life. This loss has compounded the family’s suffering immeasurably.”

As they continue to search for answers, the family is asking for compassion and understanding during this painful time.

They hope the community will come together to support them as they face this unimaginable tragedy.

What Lies Ahead?

The search for Hannah Kobayashi remains ongoing, with authorities and the public continuing to seek clues about her whereabouts.

Despite the pain the family is experiencing, they are determined to find her and bring her home.

However, with Ryan’s tragic death now adding another layer of grief, the Kobayashi family faces an incredibly challenging road ahead.
