In a heartfelt moment shared on Instagram, Marise Pollard, the wife of Springboks fly-half Handre Pollard, opened up about the joys of motherhood as their son, Hunter, reached the milestone of five months old.
On September 25, she shared her early morning musings, revealing just how much being a mom means to her.
A Special Morning with Hunter
Marise captured her emotions beautifully as she recalled the serene moments spent with Hunter.
“This morning at 5 AM, I found myself reflecting on my little one who is already five months old,” she wrote.
She described watching Hunter peacefully sleep and imagined the thoughts dancing in his mind.
After a refreshing nap, Hunter woke up calling for her, and when their eyes met, he greeted her with a smile that melted her heart.
As they shared a cozy moment together, Marise rocked him gently in a chair, feeding him warm milk while singing his favorite lullaby.
“I cherish every detail of his little features,” she added, emphasizing the deep connection they share.
She conveyed how Hunter can sense her happiness and love during these daily rituals, which fill her with gratitude.
Embracing the Role of Mom
Marise expressed that the most fulfilling role she has ever taken on is being Hunter’s mom.
“Truly, the greatest thing I have ever done—and will ever do—is to be a mom, Hunter’s mom,” she shared with profound sincerity.
Returning to the UK
After spending some quality time in South Africa, both Handre and Marise Pollard are now back in the UK.
Marise reflected on their trip, sharing her gratitude for the time spent with family and friends, especially in introducing Hunter to those she loves.
“This was the longest I’ve been at home since I was 18 years old,” she noted, feeling blessed to have shared those precious moments with loved ones.
Grateful for Two Homes
As they prepare to settle back in the UK, Marise expressed mixed emotions about leaving South Africa but also excitement for returning home.
“It is so nice for me to be back in our town, at our home with our dogs,” she mentioned, highlighting her appreciation for being able to call two places home.
She concluded with heartfelt gratitude for the experiences she has gained along the way, saying, “I am just so grateful for the privilege of being able to call another country and town home.”
Marise’s reflections remind us of the beauty and challenges of motherhood, and the joy found in balancing life between different places and loved ones.
