In response to the shocking ambush that claimed the lives of two traditional rulers in Oke-Ako, Ikole Local Government Area, Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has issued directives to security agencies for the immediate apprehension of the perpetrators.
Governor Denounces Heinous Act and Promises Full Investigation:
Governor Oyebanji strongly condemned the heinous act and reassured the people of Ekiti State that the government would spare no effort in uncovering the truth behind the incident.
The victims, identified as the Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti and the Elesun of Esun Ekiti, were ambushed by armed men while returning from a meeting. A third traditional ruler, the Alara of Ara-Ekiti, managed to escape the attack.
Security Agents Deployed to Apprehend Perpetrators:
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, Governor Oyebanji confirmed the deployment of security agents to the affected area.
The governor, who chaired a state security council meeting just an hour before the incident, emphasized that all necessary measures would be taken to ensure the culprits face justice.
Condolences Extended to Grieving Communities:
The governor conveyed heartfelt condolences from the government and the people of Ekiti State to the communities of Imojo Ekiti and Esun Ekiti.
