The incident occurred on a fateful Monday, leaving the community mourning the loss of their esteemed leaders.
Rotimi went on to share additional distressing incidents, stating, "a commercial driver was killed between Ayedun and Ayebode by armed bandits, and just yesterday (Monday), a school bus loaded with students was hijacked in Emure Ekiti, and their whereabouts still remain unknown.

In response to the escalating security concerns, the House of Representatives swiftly passed resolutions to address the situation.
One resolution urged the Chief of Army Staff to redeploy military personnel to the Oke-Ako area outpost, aiming to fortify security and prevent a recurrence of such heinous acts.
Additionally, the House called upon key figures such as the Inspector General of Police, the Commandant General of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, and other security agencies to deploy extra personnel to Ekiti North 1.
