Frances Tiafoe’s US Open bench is relatable

Frances Tiafoe has caused a stir in the tennis community by defeating tennis legends and making it all the way to the 2022 US Open quarterfinals.

But aside from his tennis game, the 24-year-old American star has also garnered recognition for something unrelated to it.

His disorganised player bench.

Fans have observed the growing and disorderly size of the budding star’s designated area during his five matches at Flushing Meadows. With each set he performs, the number of sweat-soaked shirts, extra shoes, empty water bottles, and dirty towels seems to increase.

Both followers of the phenomenon and analysts have noticed it and found it to be fairly relatable. Who among us hasn’t, during a hectic season, allowed their workplace desk to become a little out of control?

The majority of us simply don’t work in front of tens of thousands of viewers, with even more watching in from home, who might take notice.

After defeating Andrey Rublev in straight sets on Wednesday afternoon, Tiafoe chuckled and remarked, “My player bench is wicked.”

But he said, “it’s doing the job, so who cares right now? ”

I also say that to my superiors. The difference there, of course, is that I didn’t beat Rafael Nadal, a 22-time Grand Slam champion, on centre court earlier this week, and I’m not the first American man to reach the US Open quarterfinals in 16 years.

For a chance to go to his first-ever grand slam final, Tiafoe will play the winner of Wednesday night’s match between Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz and Italy’s Jannik Sinner. Back in his New York City hotel room, which he claims “is a disgrace, too, he will unwind, recuperate, and psychologically prepare for Friday’s match.”

He chuckled and smiled knowingly as he declared, “It’s very nasty.” “Clothes all over.”
