Landmark Verdict: Life Sentence for Pastor Feyi Daniels in Sexual Assault Case:

In a groundbreaking ruling, the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence court has sentenced Feyi Daniels, the founder of iReign Christian Ministry, to life imprisonment for the rape and sexual assault of a church member.

The judgment was delivered by Justice Rahman Oshodi on January 26, 2024.

Details of Assault: Harrowing Testimony Unveiled:

The Lagos-based cleric was found guilty in connection to an incident that occurred in 2020 at his residence in Lekki.

The victim, whose identity remains confidential, was based in Ilorin, Kwara State, and was summoned to the Lagos headquarters of the church.

In her testimony, she recounted a harrowing experience where Daniels allegedly ordered her to strip naked under the guise of punishment for missing a meeting.

The assault escalated to rape, causing physical injuries and trauma for the victim.

Reporting and Legal Proceedings:

The case was officially reported in 2022 at the FCID Alagbon in Lagos, leading to the arrest and subsequent trial of Pastor Daniels.

During the defense phase on October 21, 2023, Daniels accused three of the victims of conspiracy, a claim that was dismissed by the court in its final judgment.

Controversial Predictions Amid Legal Battle:

Despite the ongoing legal battle, Daniels continued his pastoral duties and made significant public predictions during the 2023 presidential elections.

Some of these predictions, including the arrest of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Nyesom Wike, proved inaccurate.

The Supreme Court affirmed the election victory of Siminalayi Fubara, contradicting Daniels’ prediction, just a day before the life sentence was handed down to the pastor.

Justice Prevails as Supreme Court Affirms Election Result:

In a remarkable turn of events, while Daniels faced the life sentence, the Supreme Court upheld the election victory of Siminalayi Fubara on January 25th, who had been predicted to lose the governorship election.

The court’s decision added to the significance of Daniels’ legal defeat, emphasizing that justice prevailed despite the pastor’s inaccurate political predictions.
