Former VP Spokesperson Laolu Akande Supports Suspension and Investigation of CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele

…By Larry John for TDPel Media. Laolu Akande, the former spokesperson for ex-Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, has expressed his approval of the recent suspension and investigation of Godwin Emefiele, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

Akande believes that Emefiele’s actions have caused significant harm to the CBN and the Nigerian people as a whole.

Voicing his views on Twitter, Akande referred to Emefiele’s conduct as “shenanigans” that have resulted in “colossal damages.”

He called on individuals of goodwill and integrity to support the governor’s suspension, regardless of their political affiliations.

In his tweet, Akande stated, “Emefiele was given a long rope, but he failed to redeem himself. His shenanigans & the colossal damages he perpetrated at the CBN were to the utter detriment of the Nigerian people.

This is not even about cashless policy, but apparent corruption especially in the dual exchange rate policy which never made sense. What a sigh of relief!”

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu suspended the CBN governor on Friday, following which Emefiele was apprehended by the Department of State Services (DSS).

The President’s statement on Friday indicated that the suspension was necessary to allow for an investigation involving Emefiele.

However, the specific details of the investigation and its timeframe were not disclosed in the President’s statement.
