Former Kaizer Chiefs captain Willard Katsande expresses full confidence in Nasreddine Nabi’s ability to restore Kaizer Chiefs’ success after his appointment in South Africa

Willard Katsande, a former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder and team captain, is confident that new coach Nasreddine Nabi has what it takes to bring success back to the club.

After joining the Amakhosi in July, the 59-year-old Tunisian coach has already begun to make an impact, including signing seven new players and assembling his own technical team.

Changes Are Already Underway

Since his arrival, Nabi has been focused on reshaping the team.

With new recruits and a fresh strategy in place, things seem to be moving in a positive direction for Kaizer Chiefs.

Katsande, speaking to FARPost, expressed his strong belief that Nabi will steer the club back to its winning ways.

“I’m one hundred percent confident, even from the moment they hired him,” said Katsande.

“It’s important that we, as supporters, respect the decisions made by management, especially bringing in a coach like Nabi.

We just need to support what’s happening because this generation of players and management will take us where we want to go.”

Patience is Key

Katsande emphasized the need for patience from fans, noting that success doesn’t happen overnight.

Building a competitive football team takes time, and he urged supporters to give Nabi the opportunity to implement his vision.

“The coach is capable of doing great things, and the new players, along with those who’ve been with the club for a while, will contribute to the team’s success,” Katsande added.

“The most important thing for us as fans is to stay patient.

Football is a project, and sometimes it takes six months for a coach’s philosophy to really connect with the players.

Some coaches get results right away, but it can take time.”

A Challenging First Test

Nabi’s first major test as Kaizer Chiefs coach will come on Saturday evening when the team faces Marumo Gallants.

After a disappointing 10th place finish last season in the Betway Premiership, all eyes will be on Nabi and his new-look squad as they aim to bounce back.

What happens next could determine whether Kaizer Chiefs are truly on the path back to the top.
