Former ALF Star Gregory Tragically Dies in Car at 46 Due to Heat Exposure and Liver Cirrhosis in Peoria, Arizona

In June, the former child star Gregory passed away at the age of 46 due to heat exposure exacerbated by pre-existing liver conditions, as reported by TMZ on Friday.

This heartbreaking news sheds light on a troubling end for the actor known for his role in the beloved 80s sitcom ALF.

A Familiar Face from ALF

Gregory is best remembered for his role as Brian Tanner on the iconic series ALF, which captivated audiences from 1986 to 1990.

His portrayal of the Tanner family’s son made him a recognizable figure during the show’s run.

Heat and Health Issues: The Cause of Death

The sweltering Arizona heat played a significant role in Gregory’s untimely death.

However, it is also noted that Gregory suffered from hepatic cirrhosis, a condition caused by long-term liver damage.

The exact cause of his cirrhosis remains unclear, adding to the tragedy of his passing.

Gregory was found deceased in his car, alongside his loyal service dog Hans, in a Chase Bank parking lot in Peoria, Arizona, on June 13.

It is believed that he had gone to the bank to deposit residual checks the day before and may have fallen asleep in his car, succumbing to vehicular heatstroke.

Personal Struggles and Health Challenges

Gregory’s sister Rebecca shared with TMZ that he struggled with depression, bipolar disorder, and a sleep disorder that frequently kept him awake for extended periods.

Despite these challenges, those close to him think that his death was a result of a tragic accident rather than intentional harm.

Career and Life After ALF

Born in Los Angeles in 1978, Gregory began his acting career at a young age.

Besides ALF, he appeared in several other TV shows like Fantastic Max, The A-Team, T.J. Hooker, and The Twilight Zone. He also had roles in Punky Brewster and the film Jumpin’ Jack Flash (1986).

In 2003, Gregory shifted gears and enlisted in the US Navy, serving aboard the USS Carl Vinson before receiving an honorable medical discharge in 2005.

He married Sarah in 2006, though it’s unclear if they were still together at the time of his passing.

A Lasting Legacy

In memory of Gregory, his sister Rebecca has suggested donations to either The Actors Equity Foundation or the ASPCA.

Gregory’s legacy lives on through his work and the memories cherished by his fans and loved ones.

What’s next for the former child star’s fans and the public? We’ll continue to remember and honor his contributions to television and his personal bravery.
