Fire Disaster in Kwara State: Property Worth Millions Damaged

A fire disaster occurred at No 138D, Temidire Irewolede community in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The incident took place around 09:52 hours, causing extensive damage to properties worth millions of naira.

State Fire Service Confirms Incident

The State Fire Service spokesperson, Hassan Adekunle, confirmed the fire incident.

He mentioned that out of the four bedrooms in the building, only one was affected by the fire. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported. The cause of the fire was attributed to a power surge.

Safety Reminder from Director of Kwara State Fire Service

Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, the Director of Kwara State Fire Service, urged the general public to prioritize safety, especially during this period.

He emphasized the importance of calling the fire brigade promptly in case of emergencies.

Release of Abducted Wife and Children of Lawmaker

In a separate development, the wife and two children of Hon. Soliu Ayanshola, the lawmaker representing Ipaiye/Malete/Olooru of Moro Local Government in the Kwara State House of Assembly, have regained their freedom. They were abducted earlier, but discreet efforts by security agencies and the Kwara State Government led to their release.

A government source confirmed this, stating that the abductees were freed late in the evening. Additionally, five members of the gang responsible for the abduction have been arrested.

The released individuals are reported to be safe and in good health.

Arrests in Connection with Abduction

The Kwara State Police Command had previously announced the arrest of five individuals linked to the abduction of the lawmaker’s family.

The investigation and arrests were part of the efforts to address the incident.
