According to reports from his family, a British guy who travelled to Ukraine to fight was discovered there dead in the river with his hands chained behind him.
Since October 2022, Jordan Chadwick, 31, of Burnley, Lancashire, has worked for the International Legion in Ukraine.
From 2011 to 2015, he worked as a Scots guard in the British Army.
No words can adequately express the loss of such a brief life, his mother Brenda Chadwick told the BBC, adding that her family is “devastated.”
According to reports, Lancashire Police informed Mrs. Chadwick of her son’s passing on June 26.
According to the BBC, he was returned home on August 7 in accordance with plans made by the Ukrainian International Army.
His death will be the subject of an inquest in February.
Mrs. Chadwick told the BBC that her son, Joe, had shown a desire to join the military since he was a little child.
She added that the man left the UK because of his “passion to support freedom and help others with his skills.”
Although we are incredibly proud of his unrelenting bravery and tenacity, his passing has been painful, she said.
The loss of such a brief life is indescribable: “A son, brother, grandson, nephew, and uncle, who was loved immensely.”
Providing help to the family of a British citizen who died in Ukraine, the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office spokesperson said: “We are in touch with the local authorities.”
