Eva Longoria is showing her commitment to her community by getting involved in the ongoing relief efforts for the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles.
The 49-year-old actress, who had to evacuate her own home in Southern California, was seen volunteering just days after announcing a $1 million donation to help the recovery efforts.
She joined forces with several organizations, including the National Day Laborer Organizing Network and This Is About Humanity, to help the city recover from the destruction.
Hands-On Help for LA’s Wildfire Recovery Efforts
Dressed in black work clothes, gloves, and an LA baseball cap, Longoria wasted no time rolling up her sleeves to make a difference.
She was seen helping prepare essential supply boxes and assisting laborers in the cleanup efforts.
Her efforts included clearing fallen trees from the streets, offering much-needed support to the community.
Longoria also shared hugs with fellow volunteers, showing the personal connection she has to the cause.
Longoria’s $1 Million Donation to Support Local Communities
In addition to her physical help, Longoria recently pledged $1 million to assist in the recovery of communities impacted by the fires.
This generous donation will benefit organizations such as the Latino Community Foundation and the California Community Foundation.
These groups are focused on both the immediate and long-term recovery efforts for those affected by the fires that have wreaked havoc in LA.
Tens of thousands of residents have been forced to evacuate, and the death toll currently stands at 25, with over 40,000 acres scorched.
From Courage and Civility Award to Fire Relief Efforts
The $1 million donation comes from the Courage and Civility Award that Longoria received from Jeff Bezos in March 2024.
This annual prize is part of Bezos’ initiative to recognize individuals who contribute significantly to society.
Longoria has a decade to select a charity for the donation, and she has chosen to use her first donation to support the wildfire recovery efforts in Los Angeles.

In addition to her donation, Longoria will appear on Jenna & Friends this Tuesday to further discuss her contributions.
After that, she plans to return to LA to volunteer with organizations like Global Empowerment Mission and visit World Central Kitchen’s Eaton Fire operations.
She has also promised to match up to $50,000 in donations to This is About Humanity, which will directly support frontline workers and families impacted by the fires.
Emotional Message to Supporters on Social Media
Longoria also shared an emotional video on Instagram, recounting the harrowing experience of evacuating her home and reflecting on the devastation the fire has caused.
With tears in her eyes, she talked about the loss many of her friends had experienced, mentioning how heartbreaking it was to lose not only belongings but also memories.
She also shared her efforts to donate food and clothes to those in need, encouraging others to contribute as well.
“I hope we can come together and support these resilient members of our community.
