Eight suspects arrested in connection with mob justice murder of Limpopo woman

Eight people have been arrested in connection with the alleged killing of a woman in a village outside Malamulele in Limpopo.

The eight allegedly dragged and pulled 37-year-old Portia Shuma her behind her vehicle in a mob attack incident in Salema village.

The alleged incident happened between Salema and Xikundu villages two weeks ago.

The deceased’s house and motor vehicle were also burnt.

Shuma was accused of being behind the disappearance of a local man.

She was a money lender in the area.

Police spokesperson Mamphaswa Seabi says the suspects are expected to appear in court soon.

“The provincial commissioner of police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has praised the men and women in blue for the sterling work that was executed following the apprehension of eight suspects for various offences in Sase. The suspects are expected to appear before Saselamani Magistrate’s Court soon facing the charges of murder, public violence, arson and malicious damage to property.”
