Edo State Health Insurance Commission  Delegation In Anambra To Understudy ASHIA

Officials of Edo State Health Insurance Commission have arrived in Anambra state on a two-day visit to understudy the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency ASHIA.

The delegation was led by the Director-General of the Commission, Dr. Rock Amegor who was represented by his Executive Assistant, Mr Emmanuel Aigbogun.

Correspondent Chibuzor Okoye tell reports that while receiving the delegation, the Executive Secretary, Anambra state Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Simeon Onyemaechi who thanked them for the visit said that Anambra State Health Insurance Agency wants to remain a pacesetter in terms of the health insurance implementation in Nigeria, and that their main intention is to attain universal health coverage.

Dr. Onyemaechi who expressed optimism that the in-coming administration of Professor Chukwuma Soludo will sustain the agency as they have put every mechanism in place to make it sustainable, assured his visitors that they will share their success stories with them as well as cross-fertilize ideas to equally learn from the Edo Health Insurance Commission success story.

Earlier, Dr. Amegor represented by his Executive Assistant, Mr. Aigbogun maintained that Anambra State Health Insurance Agency is the most successful and functional health insurance agency currently in Nigeria, hence their choice of Anambra State for the visit.

Dr. Amegor revealed that their commission commenced full service in 2021, with the formal sector alone and they will want to learn how Anambra State Health Insurance Agency was able to break-even in the informal sector.

There was exchange of souvenirs by the two health agencies during the visit .
