HOW DID WORDLE CAPTURE THE ENTIRE WORLD
Wordle is a five-letter word game where players have six attempts throughout the day to guest the correct word. During the day, tiles on the game will change colour to help players guess what the word is.
The game has risen to become incredibly popular. According to GoodtoKnow, 300 000 players were playing Wordle at the start of 2022. A month later, two million people in the world are solving Wordle everyday.
The success of the game also sparked an Afrikaans version. Local software developer Francois Botha told MyBroadband that some feel the Afrikaans version is slightly more difficult than the English version.
“A linguist word have to confirm, but I think it’s because English has a larger vocabulary and the way Afrikaans words are formed,” said Francois.
