DUBAI, 24th February, 2022 – The Dubai Police General Command, represented by the Innovation Council, has showcased a number of innovative projects, services and achievements to Expo 2020 visitors at Fazaa Pavilion, in sync with the UAE Innovation Week, which is taking place at the global event until the end of the month.

Lieutenant Colonel Dr.

Ibrahim bin Sebaa Al Marri, Chairman of the Innovation Council at Dubai Police, said that their participation aims to strengthen the country’s efforts in the innovation field, support innovative national projects and open up possibilities for youth and students innovators.

He stated, “The UAE Innovation Week is a unique technical and digital event, especially as it is in conjunction with the global event of Expo 2020 Dubai.

“It is a great opportunity to showcase governmental and private efforts in innovation and supporting innovators to the huge number of delegations and visitors at Expo 2020,” Lt.

Col.

Dr.

Al Marri added.

During the ‘UAE Innovation Week’, Dubai Police is showcasing the ‘Public Innovation Platform’ that enables the public inside or outside the UAE to communicate with Dubai Police Security Innovation Lab, submit their innovations, propose solutions and support creative ideas.

Submitted ideas are then evaluated by Dubai Police’s innovation experts, who then announce the best idea for each challenge listed in the platform.

The best idea entitles its owner to receive a tremendous financial reward.

The Dubai Police is also displaying the ‘Smart Traffic Fines Instalment Service’, the first of its kind service that allows motorists to settle traffic fines (AED5000 and above) in interest-free, monthly instalments.

Motorists can choose between a 3-month, 6-month or 12-month instalment plan through transactions processed by banks, either by credit cards or direct debit from customers’ bank accounts.

For the first time, Expo 2020 visitors will also have the opportunity to see the ‘Floating Smart Police Station’ model, the first one-of-a-kind police station that offers its services at sea with a design meeting the needs of yacht and boat owners and water sports lovers.

The floating SPS is open 24 hours, seven days a week to offer 27 key services, such as reporting crimes and traffic incidents, and a further 33 community-based services provided in six different languages.

The Dubai Police Innovation Council is also organising field trips for college and university students to the Dubai Police Security Innovation Lab, where they learn about Dubai Police’s innovations and the latest technologies in the field of artificial intelligence and smart services.
